If you are flying to Dubai, Abu Dhabi or Doha for work this November or December, book your airport help early. Five huge events land in the same six weeks, all of them pulling tens of thousands of business travelers through the same few airports. Picking the best Meet and Greet service is what stands between walking into your meeting calm and walking in late, still waiting on a bag.<\/span><\/p>

This year the timing is tighter than usual. Here is what is happening, why the flights are fuller than you might expect, and what to ask before you book. Two things here are easy to miss.<\/span><\/p>

First, GITEX<\/a> changed. It used to run in October at the Dubai World Trade Centre. This year it runs December 7 to 11, and the main show has moved to Expo City Dubai, with only the opening day staying at the World Trade Centre. If anyone on your team planned around last year’s dates, they have the wrong week.<\/span><\/p>

Second, look at the end of that list. The Formula 1 season ends in Abu Dhabi on Sunday, December 6. GITEX opens in Dubai the next morning. Two of the biggest events in the region, one night apart, on the same highway, competing for the same hotel rooms. People arriving for GITEX will land while race crowds are still heading home.<\/span><\/p>

Add Big 5 Global, which brings around 85,000 people to Dubai in late November, and ADIPEC, which fills Abu Dhabi with more than 2,250 exhibiting companies in the first week of the month. November and December are really one long rush.<\/span><\/p>

Why flights are fuller than you would expect<\/b><\/h2>

Normally a busy season in the Gulf is just a busy season. This year is different, and it is worth knowing why before you book.<\/span><\/p>

Dubai International handled 31.5 million passengers in the first six months of 2026. That is down about 31 percent from the same period last year, after airspace restrictions across the Middle East disrupted flying. Things have been coming back month by month: 3.5 million passengers in April, 4.5 million in May, 5 million in June.<\/span><\/p>

But the planes have not all come back yet. Analysts who track the region say the big long-haul airlines are still flying roughly 20 to 25 percent fewer seats than they did in 2025, and they do not expect that to be fully fixed before the end of the year. Shorter-haul airlines like flydubai and Air Arabia have recovered faster, running close to 90 percent of last year. Fares jumped when the disruption started and have eased since, but they are still higher than before.<\/span><\/p>

So here is the squeeze. Demand for November and December is close to normal, because the events are happening and winter is high season. The number of seats is not. That means fuller planes, fewer options if something goes wrong, and connections with almost no room to absorb a delay.<\/span><\/p>

One more number worth keeping in mind. In the first half of this year, Dubai reported that nearly 99 percent of departing passengers cleared passport control in under ten minutes. That was with traffic down by a third. December will not feel like that.<\/span><\/p>

Where work trips usually fall apart<\/b><\/h2>

Most trips do not go wrong in a dramatic way. They go wrong in small pieces that add up.<\/span><\/p>

Your flight lands at 6:40 in the morning and your first meeting is at nine. Twenty minutes in the passport line, ten more looking for your driver, and the cushion is gone.<\/span><\/p>

Or eight people from your team arrive on four different flights across one afternoon, each one needing a car, and nobody on the ground is keeping track of all of it.<\/span><\/p>

Or someone is doing Abu Dhabi, then Dubai, then Doha in a single week, changing terminals in airports where a huge share of the crowd is just passing through to another flight.<\/span><\/p>

Or your exhibition team shows up with demo equipment and printed materials that have to clear customs before the stand can be built.<\/span><\/p>
